Should kids walk to school?
My kids are 9 and 7.5. I let them walk to school occasionally. It’s about half a mile in a residential, safe, nice neighborhood. I teach at their school so I’m there awaiting their arrival. It’s all sidewalks. We do it because it’s an opportunity to learn a bit if independence. My Mom is making me feel bad about it. Am I crazy for letting them walk?

offers of help from family?
How many of you have family who offer to give you a break from your child? I have a 2.5 year old and I have never had anyone in my family offer to take my daughter even for a few hours. I realize she’s 100% my responsibility and I truly love spending every day and night with her. I guess I am just feeling jealous of those who have family that offer to help. I dream of my mom calling or texting to say “why don’t you and *my hubby* go on a date night and we’ll watch *my daughter*?”. Kind of in my feels lately so if I’m out of line for feeling this way please knock some sense into me. :)

Why does it seem like everyone online regrets having children?
No matter where I go online, I always see people bragging about being child-free and parents saying hoe that is a good choice. The best I ever see on any sort of frequent basis is, "I love MY kid but having none would be great." That is still horrible. Does anyone actually like having kids? Is anyone actually happy they had kids? Does anyone not regret it at all? Why does everyone online seem to be so miserable as parents?

How do you get your kids to care about their hygiene?
My son is 12 turning 13 and he STINKS. I don't know where it comes from but I've always practiced good hygiene with him. I have to struggle with him and fight with him to shower and put deodorant on to the point you can smell him when he walks past you. It's bad. I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried approaching it kindly and letting him know nobody wants to be the smelly kid. I've gotten angry and washed his hair for him, I've straight up told him he stinks as have his grandparents. He has deodorant, he has bodyspray, he's just lazy. Same with brushing his teeth. I know all kids are gross and like this at this age but what do I do here? I was thinking of maybe buying him fancy bathbombs or something to encourage him to bathe..

My 13 year old had a boy come over while we were out of the house... how do I handle this?
She doesn't know I know. She made her younger sisters swear secrecy as well. They didn't realize I get Ring doorbell notifications, so I saw them all. What is the best course of action? I don't want to overpunish, nor do I want to let this go... help!

Can a baby play in baby gym too much?
I put my baby on the baby gym daily for at least 2 hours a day scattered around at her wake windows, she absolutely loves it! And I love watching her get excited while playing and sometimes I play with her. My mom told me today to limit her time playing on it because she might become hot headed when she grows up, like she might become easily irritated later in life, is this true? Or is this old people's sayings? Because I'm a 100% sure some old lady around her told her that.. and ofc it left me thinking about it all day. Edit : if you guys didn't understand what I meant by baby gym I meant [This](https://images.app.goo.gl/fKW1JMLTCyoCwBpE6)

Vaping! Help me help her quit
She started vaping last summer. I caught her, made her quit cold turkey. She stayed away for a while, but started again this past January. Everyone at school does it. Her main friend group doesn’t. She says she’s only doing it at school, of which I’m skeptical. She seems remorseful and understands she needs to quit. Should I get her some nicotine patches? What has worked for your child? I never smoked so I’ve never had to deal with this.

Family members with different morals?
Do you allow your children to have a relationship with family members who’s morals and values differ from your own? My sister is single and childless and constantly complaining how we don’t leave our children alone with her. However I don’t want my children to be influenced by her ideas. She believes money and status is the only thing that matters and is very quick to mock or talk down people who are less successful. She also is full of ridiculous comments how girls should always be sweet and agreeable and boys energy levels should be toned down. She also lacks empathy, when my kids have gotten hurt when she is around it’s always, oh stop crying your fine. I am constantly being guilted for never leaving my kids alone with her since she doesn’t have a family and I’m denying her mine and I also am worried I am denying my children a relationship with their only aunt. What does everyone else do?

Showed up to a kids party at the end time instead of the start.
Not only do I feel like shit because my kid missed a party with their friends, but a group of the mums commented 'how hard can it be? She's a stay at home, she has nothing to do.' 😮💨
