We need paid leave Now.
You're a working class mom with a new baby, and you live in Canada. You know how many days of paid leave you get to spend with your baby? 119. If you're living just over the border in Detroit, you get ZERO days with your baby — in the richest country in the world. Unacceptable.

Conditioned to logging everything
Probably TMI but oh well. I’ve been logging every feed, sleep and poop for my guy since a week after he was born. He’s 3 months now, so that’s a lot of data! Well today, after my own bowel movement, I go to open the Huckleberry app to register my own poop (facepalm). Sigh. Just hope that I’m not the only one losing it out here!

I'm a soccer mom ⚽
And it's a freaking dream come true. Like, I'm not joking as embarrassing as that is. Honestly. People would always ask what I wanted to be or whatever and secretly, at the back of my mind, I wanted to be a soccer mom. 😂 I was a (very) broke kid, so I never got to do this stuff and I LOVE it. Buying the sporty stuff, packing up our bags and bottles, sitting in the rain, EVERYTHING. And bonus, my kid is *obsessed* so we're here long term. I just had to say this somewhere anonymous because it seems like other parents near me are always slightly annoyed cutting the time out and paying out the nose. I'm always like, ugh. Yeah. The rain. 🙄 To their face, but I'm wet and squealing inside. I kinda just feel like I've made it, you know? I have a happy kid and I can afford soccer on my own, look at me. Okay, that is all.

Making child pay for damages
Hi All, My 7 year old was whipping a toy around in the living room and hit our new television (less than a year old) and cracked the screen. She has a history of breaking things and being generally neglectful of her belongings. I want to make sure that she learns an important lesson about breaking other people's belongings and I want her to pay half of the cost to replace the tv. We have been savings all her birthday money etc. and her bank account has over $1000 in it. The cost to replace the tv is about $800.00 Is this too harsh of a consequence for a 7 year old? She is pretty upset about losing money out of her bank account, but I want to make sure she learns a lesson about her behaviour.

My barely verbal 2yo called me
Purple flower. I'm wearing a lilac dress and lilac eyeshadow today. I look like a purple flower. That is all.

Please make me feel better.
I'm going in for my third c-section in a couple of days and I have psyched myself out so badly I just keep crying and having panic attacks. Just about the surgery itself. I'm so scared. Can y'all please tell me it's going to be okay? Thank you.

The power of reverse psychology on a 5 year old
My almost 6 year old very obviously still needs to nap more days than not. Before when I would try to get her down for a nap, she’d kick and scream and holler before falling asleep. The past few days the tables have turned. Instead, I say I am tired and need to take a nap. I tell her I need her to “tuck me in” and keep me company while I sleep. She gladly obliges and falls asleep herself within 5 minutes with no tantrums. I can’t believe I never thought of this before. Hope someone else finds this trick useful. I bet the same method could be applied to other things such as helping with chores, etc.

I'm sorry that my anxiety isn't sexy...
I told my bf that I felt like he was repulsed by me so he mentioned my most recent panic attack and told me that when I act like that it isn't attractive and doesn't make him want to "jump my bones" 😑 like??? Huh???? I never thought it did. My job isn't to be sexy 24/7 and I'm sorry that I'm mentally ill and that I have shortcomings and that they're not a turn on to you...like what???? He said this to me like an hour ago and I'm literally still pissed about this.
