Blowout help
My 9 month old has blown out her diaper 3 times in the last 24 hours. This is not normal for her. Her poops are normal but the blowout is what's not. We use Pampers Swaddlers. We have used these diapers since she was born and never had consistent blowouts like this. She is 17lbs and currently wearing size 3. The next size up (size 4) says it's for babies 22 - 37lbs. Is it possible to need to move baby up a size even before they reach the weight minimum recommendation for the next size?

Should I let my kids backtalk?
Hey reddit, new parent here. I’ve always wondered if I should let my kids backtalk? I’ve seen conflicting answers on google. I remember how frustrating it was when my parents would never let me try to reason and just shut me down with ‘no backtalking’, and i’d like to let my kids have a say since it is after all their life too. On the contray it seems like letting them backtalk would seem very disrespectful and a bad behavior that would carry on later.

How do you manage to take your newborn places?
We can’t figure out how to take our baby places. Our 8-week old is not a naturally sleepy baby and will not sleep in the stroller/carrier. We’ve tried going out to eat twice; both times, we had to cut our meals short. We make sure she’s full and we go during her awake window (about 45 minutes). As we’re out, she’ll start to cry because I’m guessing she’s bored. We’re pretty much limited to going on short walks and to the park during her awake windows. We are dying for some normalcy but we can’t manage to go out anywhere without her crying. Anyone else have a newborn who won’t sleep in a stroller or carrier? How do you manage to go out and do things with them?

is it wrong of me to be upset over this?
So my husband and I are staying with my mom until we find a place. My mom is always telling me, "let ___ hold the baby". I personally feel like I shouldn't have to be told to let anyone hold my baby because she isn't a doll that will be passed around. I was trying to get her to sleep while at my grandparents house and my mom was telling me to let my grandpa hold her. Like I'm trying to get her to sleep because she's clearly fussy.... and then my grandma takes her from my grandpa and tries to get her to go to sleep but the baby only wanted me and my husband to hold her to go to sleep.

What underrated skill have you acquired since being a new parent?
Ex: I've become pretty good at scooping formula in such a way that I don't need to tap it against the container's inner wall to even it out on the spoon - it's all in the wrist This makes the counting process go *much* faster

Babies - are schedules important?
So I keep being told by my MIL that I need to start my 20w baby on a schedule for naps and routines. My partner and I don’t live by a schedule really. He has golf some days after work and gets home later, so we eat later and go to bed later. Our bedtime always depends on our days activities. Our baby doesn’t seem to have been affected by this either. Everything is done on demand atm Are scheduled naps, feedings, and baths really important?

Anyone else hate YouTube kids?
My kid is in love with this crap… we have several streaming platforms and we’re constantly watching kids playing with toys. I absolutely hate this app and most of the content on it, but idk if banning it is right move… it REALLY puts me in a bad mood though, trying to watch TV with my kid and that’s the only thing he wants to watch.

Just Stay Home
I decided to take my week old newborn for a walk a block to Starbucks and the barista called me a liar when I (very politely and respectfully) said that my drink was smaller than what I’d paid for and then I started having a hormone fueled sobbing breakdown in the middle of Starbucks so I’m thinking it was probably too early to be in the world. These crying moments have been hitting hard and fast. Anyone have similar stories to commiserate?

Footless pajamas
I have long skinny babies so the typical footie pajamas are impossible to fit in they’re either too short but fit their body or fit length wise but they could literally be pulled through the head hole. Where can I find footless pajamas? I don’t want little sleepies or things like that that’s way out of my price range. I just can’t seem to find anything footless that’s 6m

Throwing up after feeding
My 4 1/2 month year old seems to almost always throw up after breast feeding. My wife feeds him roughly 5 minutes per breast ever 2 hours. He seems happy but I worry he isn’t getting enough nutrition. My doctor said she just needed to breast feed more but he’s throwing up a lot so I’m confused as what to do. He’s currently 13.3 lbs and I really want him to gain more weight but not sure how. Anyone have in info that would be useful for me?
