Today I cried in public
Walking home from the shops with our 2.5 year old and he finds a feather. As most toddlers are he’s absolutely thrilled with this find and was showing everyone who happened to glance his way. As we walked a bit further he saw a homeless man sat on the floor and he showed him the feather, the man very kindly told him it was lovely and to have a nice day. My son then ran back to this man and gave him his feather and told us he did it “so that man can be happy too because I was a kind boy”. And I sobbed, openly, on a main road. I thought it was maybe my hormones being 22 weeks pregnant but I’m pretty sure I’d have sobbed regardless. What an absolute blessing to parent this sweet, loving, tender souls.... infact I’m crying again now typing it. I hope he always has a heart so willing to spread love and happiness.

No, my baby...
- is not "flirting" with you - is not "teasing" you - is not "manipulating" me to nurse her or hold her when she cries - doesn't have me "wrapped around her little finger" because I feel sad when she is upset - does not "prefer" you holding her - is not "bored" Yuck. These comments are always said so playfully like they are cute and funny. Just...no! Why?! Have people utterly lost all sense of what is appropriate?! Wtf?! I feel crazy! Also...my baby does not want you talking to her and singing to her when she is tired and ready for a nap...like...get out of her face please?! 😤

Does anyone else feed their kid crap just to get them to actually eat?
My 2 year old has suddenly decided she hates eating. Gone are the days when she would eat almost anything I put in front of her. I’ve tried everything, but she won’t budge. She’ll eat any fruit you put in front of her, broccoli, and French fries. I’ve been feeling really guilty about her not eating healthier, but what can I do? I offer her all kinds of variety but at the end of the day sometimes she just eats crappy, otherwise I stress all night that she barely ate before she was in bed.

No one should have to take care of a child by themselves
It is too hard for one or two or even three people to watch a kid full time. It's possible, sure, but it isn't how humans are meant to live. We evolved for millions of years to live in groups and take care of each other. I'm not saying single parents are bad or anything. we're all just doing the best we can with what we're given. I'm upset that this is what we as a society have settled for. Nuclear families were a bad idea. People should be allowed to move in with their friends so that they can form a group to help each other out. It should be socially acceptable to live with the rest of your family as long as you want. everything is set up in such a counterintuitive way and it isn't good for raising kids.

How do you deal with the screaming?
My almost 15 month old has started high-pitched screaming when she’s not getting the attention she wants. Usually when I’m on the toilet or making food. I try to just ignore her but it’s hard to do when she’s screaming like a banshee. How do you handle this?

No, I don’t want to hear it.
No, I don’t want to hear about your new world in Minecraft. Really, I don’t give a flying fart about Roblox. Seriously, stop bombarding me with amazing animal facts on YouTube. I have been with you little darlings more or less 24/7 since March 2020. I am burned the f*ck out, I need some space, and I find it hard to believe that I’m good company for you. I love you both, but I’m so excited that your dad thinks it’s safe for you to both return to school this fall.

How do I convince my teenage daughter to bathe?
My 14 year old daughter hasn’t bathed in weeks (probably over a month) and doesn’t leave her room unless its for food. When I talk to her she either ignores me or tells me to get out of her room. The only time she communicates with me is when she wants money (which I’ve stopped giving her due to her bad behavior). People have advised me to get her into therapy but I’m not sure how to do that when she’s not cooperative.

Baby naming vent
So I never thought it was annoying until it was happening to me. I thought I was funny when my friends told me they were pregnant and I jokingly suggested my name was a good name. They simply laughed it off. Karma is a BIT&H. My wife and I are 7.5-8 month pregnant (well she's pregnant im just the house servant nowdays ;-)) and we keep getting questions about our baby boys name. and of course all of our friends are suggesting that their name is a good boys name. I want to apologies to any of my friends that Ive upset in the past when suggesting my name for your baby's name.
