Relative to a Schoolroom Globe… Planet Mars is a mile away (1.6 km). The Moon is 30 feet away (10 meters). The International Space Station orbits 3/8th of an inch (1 cm) above the surface. Branson & Bezos this month ascend the thickness of two dimes (2 mm) above the surface. https://t.co/bzM5y7UeeI

July 21 at 6:30am ET (10:30 UT), watch NASA’s @SpaceX Crew-2 astronauts relocate the Endeavor spacecraft at the @Space_Station, setting the stage for a historic 1st — two different U.S. commercial crew spacecraft docked to the orbiting lab simultaneously: https://t.co/WrHbjhATKB https://t.co/zuHf63g16r

In space I enjoyed looking down at rugged mountain ranges below. Yesterday, I got a new perspective, although from a lower altitude, but the highest I’ve ever climbed here on Earth. My wife, @amikokauderer, and I celebrating our anniversary on Mt. Bierstadt at 14,065 ft! https://t.co/hX204TGLPQ

6 Super Spiral Galaxies. They have diameters of up to 450,000 light-years across, almost 4 times larger than the Milky Way. There have only been about 100 of them discovered to date. [1920 x 1285] (Credit: NASA/ESA, P. Ogle & J. DePasquale (STScI). Bottom row: SDSS, P. Ogle and J. DePasquale)

Did Richard Branson really go to space?

# From Entrepreneur below, and I tend to agree, it seems like a cheat to just go to the border and claim it as space travel, right? # Did Richard Branson Really Go Into Space? Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson Says No *The famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, a disciple of Carl Sagan, explained Richard Branson did not actually travel to space.*

Question: why are all the planets on the same line when viewed from Earth?

Hello, I have tried making a model of solar system (it came as a surprise, though I did recall studying this later, that solar system is on a 2D plain) to understand this but have failed. Why are all members of solar system on the same line when viewed from Earth? Depending on where which planet is, the sighing should be random, not necessary on a line. Am I missing something here. Plz help clarify. Thanks

This image of the Crab Nebula (also known as Messier 1) in the constellation of Taurus is an overlay of one of the first-light images taken by the CONCERTO instrument on the APEX telescope, operated by ESO, with an image taken by the FORS 2 instrument on ESO’s VLT.

What's the average salary of a late 20s early 30s employee?

I know this is a VERY open ended question but here are some assumptions I will give: Working there since graduation, works on the Artemis Program perhaps, been maintaining exemplary work behavior, perhaps been given project or even role promotions. If this is still very basic and not enough, could you give some idea as to how one can climb the employee position ladder?

Today, NASA began a switch to backup spacecraft hardware on Hubble in response to an ongoing problem with its payload computer. This will be a multi-day event. If successful, the next step will be for science instruments to be brought back into operation. https://t.co/0QEMsatniP
