As an educator, you are a community builder. From day one, you're getting to know your students on a relational level. Community building also requires us to know our students at an individual level. @spencerideas https://t.co/2SUAIOEx4M

No buckling up in the pickup line?

So at my kids school if you pick them up in the car lane you can't wait for them to buckle up before they're yelling at you to pull away. My child is in kindergarten and in a safety seat. They want me to drive over to the parking lot (50ft) to get her buckled instead of giving me 30 seconds to bucket her lap buckle (she can get the straps over her shoulders and chest clip done). Is this normal? I get there's a lot of kids and parents waiting but still, surely letting kids get safely buckled is more important than expediency?

The earlier you start talking to your child about being safe online the better. Áine Lynch, National Parents Council Primary, has practical advice for #parents about how to approach the topic in an age-appropriate way. #OnlineSafety https://t.co/FmnjHYtYFn

Do all parents think their children are beautiful??

Some days I just can’t get enough of my kids. I find them so charming, adorable, and hilarious. They also annoy the poop out of me half the time, but today is a day I just can’t stop staring at them and thinking how lucky they got in the cuteness department. Anyone else feeling this today??

I love that teens think wide leg pants are in style

Because they have learned nothing from our past mistakes and will suffer in the winter when they drag their wide ass leg pants through snow and get their ankles soaking wet. Plus, all the high-rise, skinny pants and leggings will be in thrift stores so I get to look cute for cheap!

Unlearning my parents version of parenting.

Is anyone else dealing with this? My parents were 90s parents. So, they did the things we thought were ok then and now we know aren’t. Unfortunately, it’s the only version of parenting I know. I know it’s good points and bad points. I also know, when I’m tired, agitated, my anxiety flares or I’m just having a bad day, I fall into their bad habits. I just don’t know what to do. I want to be better. I just don’t know how…..

My son (9m) was asked by a classmate to show him my son's privates...

My son who is 9 was asked by a classmate to show him his penis and he did. The principle called me to let me know what happened. I'm shocked that a 4th grader would ask that and I'm more shocked my son would do it. This scares me because he didn't tell anyone. My husband and I plan to talk to him about this tonight but I'm not sure how to approach this other than to tell him that he can't show his penis to others and to always tell us if someone asks to see or touch his private parts. I'm at a loss for this. Is there something wrong with my son?
