Do you send your kids to school when they are fever free for 24 hours?
Would 8AM being fever free yesterday mean that my child can go back to school today at 8AM? Thats 24 hours right? The school nurse at my child's school is saying thats not 24 hours of being fever free. I am a little confused now and need to know what other moms do when their kids are recovering and how long you wait to send your kids to school? I talked to my child's pediatrician, he said she was fine to return to school after being fever free for 24 hours, she did have the flu, and I asked him if even if she had the flue she could return, he said yes.

Are y’all still watching your shows with newborn nearby or during skin to skin?
My 3 week old loves to sleep in our arms or during skin to skin. And to pass the time BF in the living room, I’ll turn on Netflix and watch my normal stuff. Is this so bad for a baby so young? I know TV isn’t good for babies, but isn’t that for when they are a bit older? How am I supposed to pass the time if I’m couchbound breastfeeding?

Shifting focus to student-centered curriculum can help learners identify with common themes in literature and recognize that while themes transcend; experiences may not. @LorraineRadice1 @edutopia https://t.co/k2rgJjLn4R

If you are getting the Flu/COVID Vaccinations at 6 months - Validate your schedule with a doctor if it is "early".
We had our 6 month shot scheduled for today. Our baby boy was born 5 months, 29 days ago (1 day shy of 6 months). I am not blaming the doctor for rejecting the vaccines being administered today, but it is very annoying to find the front desk staff who scheduled us were very reassuring that "a day early" would be "no big deal". DO NOT schedule any amount of time early unless a doctor explicitly validated this. We now have to reschedule our vaccinations, and this has muddied our holiday plans as well...

Christmas morning fun ideas
My kids will have many fewer presents than normal this year due to financial dramas (it’s ok!!). I don’t want them to be disappointed that this holiday is less than normal so I am looking low cost things we can do Xmas morning to offset the fewer toys under the tree. What do you all actually DO on Xmas to keep a 10 and 12yr engaged and have a great memorable day? Note- they are both fine with seeing less toys under the tree and are not going to be a bunch jerks. We made a family purchase decision that they were included in. They don’t need pep talks or counseling we just need fun ideas :)

Not rich enough to adopt a family this year, got me wondering…
We were trying to adopt a less fortunate family for Christmas this year, like we do every year, but realized we aren’t rich enough. Every family has 3 kids who all want Nintendo switches and iPads and laptops. So is this what most kids want and get for Christmas these days? Parents of older kids, how do you even afford Christmas?

Is it rude to let kids wander around someone else's home?
I have a friend with two young boys (4 and 6 years old). When they come to visit, the kids just wander all over, walking into my bedroom and anywhere else they please. Is this rude or just normal kid behavior?

First Christmas with baby
I (25F) have a 5 month old little boy. He'll be 6 months by Christmas and I'm really excited for his first Christmas with us. I want to buy him presents, such as a baby toothbrush and other useful things, since he doesn't really appreciate toys yet. However, my husband (23M) says that there's no point getting him anything because he'll never remember it and he doesn't know what's going on. Is it weird and unnecessary to get our baby anything for Christmas? I think every kid should get something for Christmas, whether they need it or not, but my husband doesn't see the point. I guess what I'm looking for is whether or not it's worth getting anything, and what other people in a similar situation are doing. Thanks!

Family gift ideas for households with multiple children
My 2 siblings have 3 children each, ranging from 2 - 13 years of age, both genders. For Xmas, I usually try and give each child a present. But it's a lot buying 6 specific gifts for each child. Are there any good recommendations for maybe one nice gift ideas for all the kids/household? It'll be so much easier to just get something the whole family or just the kids could enjoy together. For reference, I have an only, my daughter. So gift giving from me to them fills me with anxiety every year especially as they get older. So far I've seen 3D printers for kids, stuff like that can work.

Baby's first head cold. Do those booger sucking things actually work?
My 8 months old son has a head cold. He sounds congested and boogers have been flowing out of his nose all day long at an increasing rate. I've seen those things that look like little straws that you used to suck boogers out of baby's noses. I actually worth it? He seems uncomfortable and boogers are getting smeared on everything. Guidance would be appreciated!
