The Cosmic Avians: The Eagle and Swan Nebulae untracked

This is 25 mins of exposure from a bortle 3-4. Nikon D3100 astro-modded with a Meike 85mm f1.8. (It doesn't produce great stars, even at f3.2 like this was) All subs were 3 seconds untracked

Need advice on locations around Chicago

I live in the Chicago suburbs where the light pollution is terrible and have been researching areas relatively close that I could start getting into astronomy, specifically Kankakee River and Shabbona Lake state parks. Does anyone from the area know the policy on staying late in Illinois state parks or have any other recommendations for good sites that they use. My concern is that I'm going to drop a couple hundred bucks on a telescope and drive an hour just to get hassled by somebody for being in the park after closing.

Starlight and the first black holes: Researchers detect the host galaxies of quasars in the early universe

The masses of the observed black holes in such an Early-Universe is larger than expected, posing the question: "How could these black holes grow to be so large when the universe was so young?" The galaxies and the black holes have completely different sizes, so which came first: the black holes or the galaxies? This is a “chicken-or-egg” problem on a cosmic scale.

Solar activity is ramping up faster than scientists predicted. Does it mean an "internet apocalypse" is near?

Fears are brewing that an apocalypse is coming. But instead of burning buildings and utter chaos, there's a monthslong global internet blackout. The concern comes amid recent solar storm data that has emerged, but is the current activity on the sun really enough to cause what's been dubbed the "internet apocalypse?"

Request: Great objects/constellations to see this time of year from Europe?

For the first time in my life I've made reservations at an Observatory (next week, in Spain). I'm really looking forward to it. They asked if I have any specific objects or constellations I would like to see. I have no clue but love the question! Do you guys have any suggestions on what I might request to see?
