Up ahead: the target spot where I plan to collect my first-ever sample of Martian rock. I have everything I need with me to get the job done. First is to collect detailed, close-up science of the rock, then comes the coring. Why and how I’ll sample here: https://t.co/MYw9RoDbGj https://t.co/EPHJVmJH6n

Preparations are underway for @NASAPersevere to collect the first-ever Martian rock core. It’ll take our rover ~11 days to complete its first sample-taking, and it will rely on the complex and clean Sampling & Caching System at the end of its robotic arm. https://t.co/Qhc0JDfnEa https://t.co/Re0L3mZ2FK

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin departed the lunar surface today in 1969 in the ascent stage of Lunar Module Eagle. While Eagle remained at the Moon, our Lunar Module 2 (which was used in testing here on Earth) is configured to look like #Apollo11's Eagle. #AirSpacePhoto https://t.co/3X1tUL9LGm

Senate Preparing $10 Billion Bailout Fund for Jeff Bezos Space Firm

Wow, isn't it nice that the Senate is going to give the richest man in the United States 10 billion dollars to bail out his failing space firm? I guess you got 2 free rides. One from the Senate and one yesterday to barely the edge of space! Could you imagine how much good could come from 10 billion dollars spent on almost anything other than giving it free to Jeff Bezos who should be using his own money to bail out Blue Origin. https://www.google.com/amp/s/static.theintercept.com/amp/jeff-bezos-blue-origin-senate-bailout.html

#OTD 10 years ago, the final mission in our Space Shuttle Program landed at @NASAKennedy for the last time. 🚀 This mission aboard Atlantis may have been the end of the shuttle era, but it was the beginning of a new stage of exploration. Watch: https://t.co/3Ln3bNoMEq https://t.co/lBnba20nDR

There's a little piece of history in that window! Did you know - The "Space Window" at the National Cathedral has a piece of real Moon rock embedded into it. The rock weighs only 7.18 grams, and was gifted by NASA on July 21, 1974. https://t.co/z3y6OXIbQY

After the hatch of Gus Grissom's Liberty Bell 7 blew suddenly after splashdown 60 years ago today, it began to sink. The Marine Corps helicopter tried to recover it, but the water flowing in made it too heavy. The capsule remained at the bottom of the ocean until 1999. https://t.co/KsDDZa2H2U
