Yoga & Trauma
The past couple of days I've gone to hot yoga classes which led to difficult emotions in savasana. I noticed feelings nearly identical to the sensations I get from memories of my most extreme traumas. In the past I've had difficulties processing trauma because so many of the memories stay locked behind repression. But this almost feels like a way I can process and manage the feelings associated with my traumas, in a way that I can approach with love, compassion, and control. Is this a common experience? I've always heard how yoga can help heal trauma, but didn't realize this might be what it actually feels like. Thoughts?

Are combining yoga and mindfulness a good way to keep stress out of your life?
No matter how hard I try, I never get to the point where anything else disturbs my focus. How do you do it?

Yoga after miscarriage
Hi everyone, I am looking for some guidance. I recently (2 days ago) had a miscarriage. I am looking to fond some yoga flows that are gentle. However the only specific flows I could find were more mindfulness with only 1-2 asanas. And honestly, I don’t want one more soul (whether irl or on a yoga video) to tell me it’s not my fault and it’s gonna be OK. I just wanna have a normal flow. Physically I am doing OK and healing. My doctor said I can do yoga but need to be mindful of my movement and nothing to put too much strain on my abdomen. I do yoga for quite sometime, but had abandoned practicing for almost 6-7 months. I’d greatly appreciate if you can steer me to a source. Thanks everyone. TLDR; just hd a miscarriage, cleared by my doc for very light exercise, have been doing yoga on and off.Looking for some easy flows with less abdominal asanas.

Canceling membership at studio?
I’m conflicted if I should cancel my membership at my local studio and just practice yoga outside now that it’s warmer? Any thoughts..?

Yoga - how has it helped you alongside healing work, helped re-regulate, or been your healing work? - in particular with feeling safety to feel
I have really shifted recently in realising that i have totally ignored the body noting my freeze/fight and dissociative states, realising i am not safe in my body and live in my head, and before talking about stuff, inner sense of safety seems like its needed first, or alongside to build the processes to feel and release trauma and pain. I have started to try yoga as i keep reading others saying how yoga (or other stuff like Tai Chi etc) helped them re-regulate, or build more presence or capacity in the body to feel and heal keen to to hear others experience and tips.. thanks....,,,.,.,.,

im tall and my back is very bad and rounded. i cant hold my toes or feet so i hold my shins. where i actually should feel the stretch? and should i try to pull my knees down to the floor and also to sides or just to floor? i seen few videos where ppl say you have to feel stretch in lower buttock area or at the hip/thigh just lower buttock (inner thigh i guess). i also sometimes feel stretch or something in groin area like at waist area, is it right? also my abs gets tensed i mean engaged when i hold this pose, is it right to do? thanks for clarifications in advance! and yeah i trynna make it an active resistance stretch so i hardly try to pull my knees to sides and to the floor and at the same time try to push my feet towards the ceiling

Rituals
I’m a new instructor (I actually haven’t taught a real class yet but did just get hired) I’m feeling really nervous and having imposter syndrome like I don’t know enough of the technicals. I’m wondering if anyone has any rituals they do before or after class to ground themselves and calm their nerves before classes? I’m usually a very calm person but don’t radiate confidence which I know is important so I will take any tips I can get for a new teacher! I’m primarily teaching Hatha 26/2!

Need help.
So, I went for a dance workshop yesterday. The whole routine was pretty intense for a beginner, I sort of had to do at least a hundred squats and 50 head-rolls in the process. I’m a regular at stretching with yoga, and basic aerobics. But, post my class I haven’t been able to stand up without making the “ah” sound. It has gotten difficult to walk also, so now I’m just walking without bending my legs and looking like a penguin while at it. What yoga or stretching do you think would help with such massive muscle pain? And is it normal to have such aches in your mid twenties?

What are your yoga goals currently?
I started yoga about two years ago, and my goal for an entire year was to make it through a Vinyasa flow class without any breaks and to be consistent with yoga. Currently, I’m learning how to do inversions (I still can’t do a crow!). Curious to know what everyone is working towards right now!

Well my shoulders suck
Fresh Yogi (2.5 weeks in to practicing on the regular). Today my yoga flow incorporated a “reverse table top”… I could NOT do it to salve my life. My shoulder mobility is shit after 7 years of year round travel volleyball. Specifically looking for modifications or substitutes to stretch and gain mobility in.
