Padangusthasana and itchy feet

I'm just curious if this happens to anyone else. Whenever I do hand to big toe (grabbing your big toe while folding), the bottoms of my feet get so itchy. I'm pretty used to it now, so it doesn't totally take me out of it, but it is something I notice every time. Anyone else? 😅

Seeking advice to get out of the headspace where all I see is faults in my practice

Dear r/yoga community, I’ve (28f) been practising yoga with increasing frequency and devotion for 2 years. It has brought such warmth and energy and focus to my life. I roll out the mat every morning at home, even just for 10 minutes, and I try to go to a studio class 3-4 times a week. I recently filmed myself practising at home to check my form, and since seeing myself on camera (too stiff, too fat, too ungainly) all I can see and think about when I practice are the faults in my body or in my poses. I feel my confidence has disappeared in even the most basic poses. I’m trying hard to focus on the way poses make me feel instead of how I look in them, and to tap into less superficial modes of thinking. But my mind keeps telling my body it is wrong in all ways. Has anyone else experienced a mental block like this? What can I turn to to help move past it and feel confident and joyous in my practice again? Thank you 🙏

Release the palate

Hello beautiful people, What does it mean release the palate? Do you have to connect your tongue to the soft palate area / root of the palate and then move your tongue from that spot when you move in and out from an asana? Can anyone provide a detailed expalanation please? Thank you very much

Any tips on getting one on one coaching at a discount from teacher training students?

Hello, I want one on one coaching to keep my form and learn intermediate to advanced poses. Do they encourage students in teacher training to have case works where the students need certain hours of training?

how to clean rubber yoga mats?

I purchased one by Kimjaly from Decathlon store. It's a heavy rubber mat. Grip is excellent, but it gets sweat stains. One drop of sweat and it stays there for around 15-20 minutes. Like the rubber absorbs it and it's visible for a long time. Any tips for how I can make this sweat stain problem go away? And how can I clean this mat?

Uncomfortable thigh compression in vajrasana, reclining in virasana impossible?

I (28f) have quite large thighs for my frame and suspect I might have a touch of lipedema. Otherwise in good health and enjoy a regular practise. My knees and hips are fairly amenable, but I find the compression of my thighs in vajrasana extremely uncomfortable. It builds up to a burning sensation, though I never feel any pain in my knees. Virasana is physically impossible due to the same sensation of my thighs being bound super tightly and uncomfortable compressed. When I try reclining in one-legged virasana, the hip of the folded leg is way off the floor. Help in all directions gratefully received - similar experiences, tips, anatomical explanations or suggestions of things I should work on to ease the sensation. Thank you!

Same basic shape. But varying levels of flexibility and balance required. https://t.co/zomRHDTs7N

should my back and shoulders feel so heavy during a forward fold?

Whenever I go into forward fold, my back and shoulders feel so heavy when I fully relax. I can only liken it to actually feeling my organs press against the inside of my back and shoulders. This isn't a sensation I have experienced before and it's been lasting for around two months. I feel a very similar thing at the base of my neck too, like the weight of my entire spine is pressing against that area. Is this normal?
