yoga beginner with bad back. any suggestions?
I am a 21 year female and I have spinal fusion and rods in my back, leaving almost 0 flexibility. I have back pain and would like to start yoga and pilates so it’s easier on my back and maybe help with the pain. My neck has a lot of issues with pain since I use it a lot from not being able to turn my body. I know the flexibility will not be improvable by much at all since my spine is fused. I have a little bit of flexibility in my lower back and that is it. And obviously every other part of my body isn’t flexible. So I was wonder if anyone has some advice on some positions or routines that may be beneficial for me? or should I not even explore the option at all? I’ve been told since my surgery it will be hard for me to do yoga or exercise because of my back and I want to push myself to feel better physically and mentally.

Pose for elbow stretch - golfers elbow
Hello Does anyone know a good pose to stretch the elbow? Twisted scorpion/cross does stretch my elbow but just wondering if there are any others which rely on body weight to open the elbow and focus on a stretch in the forearm and inner elbow. Thanks

Intense pain in standing wide legged forward fold / Prasarita Padottanasana
I have been practising yoga for a few years and ashtanga for a year and a half. I still cannot do all Prasarita Padottanasana positions in the primary series due to very intense pain. It runs from the thigh all the way down to my ankles, on the outter side of my legs. I am a bit overweight, so it might just be too much on my ankles, but this is no issue in the other poses (perhaps sometimes in Eka Pada Padangusthasana) and it doesn’t seem to improve at all. The way I approach it now is I’ll try to stay in the position and search for my boundary, which varies each day. Some days I can do A, B and C but most days I already shuffle my feet closer after A. Any tips are welcome! P.s. I have had both my ankles sprained very often in the last 15 years, assuming this has resulted in some lasted damage that might be playing a part here (ex-basketball player)

Burnout & stress affect every body differently. In fact, you may be experiencing burnout and not feel any of the symptoms listed above. Don't look at this series as one more thing to fit in, but to use as support to heal, revive, reflect, & refresh YOU. https://t.co/9nIxwnzvhL https://t.co/0Yx1P9pA8m

As a Buddhist monk, I’m dedicated to promoting inter-religious harmony. All religions accept the value of warm-heartedness. Some believe in God; others have faith in karma. When I hear about fighting among religious people, I feel very sad—as if medicine has become poison.
