Why isn’t my balance improving?
I’ve been doing 2 classes a week since May. I can see the vast improvements I’ve made in flexibility, but as soon as I try any one legged poses, I’m scrambling to not topple over immediately. Am I doing something wrong or is there a thing that would keep me from being able to balance?

Mat Cleaning
I was wondering what everyone uses to disinfect their mats and how often. I don’t want to use anything that degrades my mat, but I know it could be cleaned more than what I currently do.

Constant muscle pains.
Hello all. I started YTT about 3 months ago. Ever since then I have muscle pain pretty much every single day. I was sort of of our shape when I started. I play golf and walk and went to a salad maybe 2x a week one being yum and the other a beginner intermediate class. I mainly have upper back and hip pains all day long. What can I do to help? Do I need a break?

Etiquette
I’ve been doing yoga in front of my tv since the pandemic began to help with stress and it’s super helpful for me. I’ve never been to a real yoga class but I want to start and have some anxiety about it. I had a gf once who went to yoga classes who showered before classes. Is it good etiquette to shower before a class?

Any tips on further improving in a hot yoga class?
I don’t do well in heat settings n the last time I took a hot yoga class, I had to take several breaks and felt numb in the face the entire time lol. I felt energized after, but couldn’t keep up AT ALL! I’m taking my first hot yoga class after a long term hiatus, and I’m nervous but excited. What’s the etiquette on leaving the room if I have to? Or do I just lay in child’s pose and catch my breath if I find the heat is getting to me? Really any tips would be appreciated! I have neck pain from TMJ and feel the heat in hot yoga would be super beneficial for warming up those tight muscles!

hot yoga with cornrows/braids?
I’ve searched the subreddit and couldn’t find any answers… any ideas of how to manage cornrows while doing hot yoga? I’m afraid I’ll destroy them during Bikram. What do others do???

advanced yoga with carpel tunnel
I really love yoga as a form of exercise. I love the mental aspects too, but its one of the only ways to exercise that I've really connected with in my life. Im getting older and want to stay in shape and age well, but I've recently developed carpel tunnel and I'm trying to figure how to practice yoga with this new constraint. I alresdy do a lot of the basic modifications (forearm plank, dolphin instead of down dog, tenting my hands, etc) for easier classes, but I don't get much out of those classes and all the more advanced/strenuous classes I've found involve arm balances. So, any advice for either (eventually) being able to do arm balances with carpel tunnel, or finding advanced/strenuous/strengthening yoga classes that don't involve arm balances?
