$180,000,000. Private equity firm Carlyle is giving its incoming CEO Harvey Schwartz a five-year stock incentive package valued at $180 million — if he can lift its sagging share price. Schwartz was previously at Goldman Sachs, where he served as co-president and co-COO alongside David Solomon. He resigned when Solomon emerged as favored pick for CEO. This package gives Schwartz a chance to earn more than what bank chiefs typically make — but after Carlyle’s 46% slump in 2022, he has work to do. Thoughts on a telehealth service for college students?

What, if anything, is appealing about the idea of a Telehealth startup with a focus on the physical and mental health needs of college students? Some of the features would be: 24/7 chat with healthcare professionals, virtual doctors’ visits, in-person referrals, health-related content/self-treatment plans, Contraception Prescriptions/Delivery, UTI/STD At-Home Diagnostics/Delivery, an online community, and health tracking Would you use this? What’s the benefit, in your opinion? This is not self-promotion, just an exploration of a potential idea.

If you had 300k to start a business (with a background in healthcare) what would it be?

David Rubenstein asked Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell what the salary of the Fed Chair is. Powell says he “believes” it is $190,000, adding that he thinks it’s a “fair” salary. Link in bio for more.

Idea for Sustainability Marketplace

Hi everyone, I'm an entrepreneur looking to start my next project - an online marketplace for sustainable and eco-friendly products. I have a few questions for customers & vendors who specifically buy & sell sustainable, eco-friendly products. For Customers: * How do you currently find sustainable and eco-friendly products? * What kinds of product are you looking for/do you shop for the most? * Do you compare different brands somehow? * Is it easy to find the products you’re looking for? For Small Businesses: * Could you take in more customers than you currently have? Is your manufacturing process scalable? * How do your customers currently find you? * Would a niche online marketplace offering your type of products be something of interest to you for a commission? * What would you want/need on this platform? Thanks in advance!

Software for tracking KPIs

Hi guys, My new years resolution was to be better about my numbers, but I really need a better system to track my KPIs. Currently just doing it manually with excel, but it's so tedious and I'm sure I'm not getting the most accurate data. Can you recommend something with an easy to use dashboard and an easy way to quickly record data as it comes in? My CRM (Jobber) can generate reports, but I get inquiries from various platforms (like yelp, nextdoor, etc.) that never go through, but I would still like to record to data to see conversion rates. Thanks in advance

Any recommendations for using a payroll tax company?

I am so frustrated with my current provider, OnPay. No one seems to be able to tell me whether or not they have been properly paying our state taxes. Their reports say they haven't but the state says some of the taxes have been paid. This is a nightmare. Does anyone have a recommendation for a great payroll company? Or, is there some way to search this information inside this subReddit? I'm certain this question has been asked before.

Workman’s Comp for Owner

I run a horse ranch, so it is a physical job and there is risk of injury in my day. I currently claim work comp exemption for my wife and I, but was recently considering adding us at at least the minimum rate for owners. I’m curious if anybody has any experience or thoughts on this.

No pos can match my current processor

I currently have a 1.26% fee for cards and the pos I use lightspeed increased my rate for not using their payment processor. They were only able to offer 1.8% plus .05 cents .Has anyone here dealt with something like this?

Co-packing pricing questions - please help!

I'm working on a project for my entrepreneurship class, but I might actually pursue it to fruition. I'm having a hard time getting just a general ballpark about costs/margins when using a co-packer. Yes, I know it varies a ton based on product, volume, etc. but can anybody give me some generalities for: 1. a frozen food 2. ideally produced at an hourly rate (while scaling) 3. if possible including shipping cost if they also provide distro OR ANY MIXTURE OF THE ABOVE - thank you so much!!!
