My business is now supporting me
As of next week my consulting business will be exactly two months old, as my LLC was formed on 09 April 2021. Today was a very important day for me as I paid my monthly household expenses and did it solely using income that i have paid myself from my new business. I realized it this morning that I am now able to support myself with this new venture. It is still very scary, but if i keep going the way that i am, I will be able to support my family, pay all my bills and still have the same equivalent salary that i have had for the last few years.

How do I partner with food trucks for my event?
I recently opened a music venue in my city. We are starting from the ground up and can't offer our own food menu yet so we are reaching out to food trucks to partner with. I don't want to look like a noob and get taken advantage of so that why I'm coming to reddit to help. What would an average deal look like to partner with a food truck? Do we offer them money to come set up and sell food outside of our event? Do we get a percentage of sales? Or do we not trade anything?

I need math help.....
I have three different items being imported that vary greatly by size and quantity. I have a single freight charge that I wish to divide between all the products to help calculate overhead. I can't just divide the freight by total pieces since the larger items, which also represent the smallest quantity, occupy much more space (by a factor of 3). So I'm trying to find a formula that factors size and qty. It doesn't have to be anything terribly accurate, just a rough estimate. I need to find my freight cost per item and it's driving me nuts that I can figure this out Details are as follow: Product A is 10oz, product B is 22oz and Product C is 32oz. Total qty: Product A, 11,500, Product B, 5400, Product C 2520. Total Freight for the entire shipment $1170.15. I would greatly appreciate any help on this. Not sure how I've managed to run a business this long without basic math skills, but here I am! 🙃

If you were given $1 million to invest in your business, what would you spend it on to increase growth?
I think the answer to this question might be useful to a lot of people. What would be a solid, not superfluous way to spend a large amount of excess capital that would actually have a positive effect on your growth. Maybe you’re approached by an investor one day, maybe you’re thinking of applying for a loan etc. but when the opportunity comes, what would you do? Imagine that you’re debt free and already net positive or breaking even at least. So you’re not paying off debt, you’re not taking it as profit or owner payouts, and not increasing owner’s salaries.

Can I start as a sole proprietorship and later switch to an LLC to avoid $800 franchise tax in CA?
I am starting a trucking business in CA and looking to start filing all required paperwork and permits this year, but actual business operations would start next year in 2022... Is it possible to start now as a sole proprietorship (will not have any revenue in 2021) and then change it up to an LLC once I start operating ? Trying to avoid having to pay the $800 CA tax fee since I won't be making any money this year... or is there any other work around ? Thank you

Student Freelance Content Writer Needs Business Advice!
Hi all. I am freelance content writer that began my content writing journey just a month ago. Since then, things have really taken off and I have gained some great clients and signed a contract for on-going work that will pay very well. I thought content writing would just be for some extra cash whilst studying for my Psychology degree. To cut a long story short, I feel that I am great at writing, but lack business knowledge and I now need to register as a business. I’d really appreciate any advice as to whether I should go down the sole trader route, or launch a limited company. Further, it would be amazing if you could notify me of anything I need to be aware of and consider. I am aware of the wealth of information on this online, but it would be very helpful to hear the thoughts of some of you on this sub. Thanks 🙌

Handyman website.
Hi, I'm building a handyman website. I want to streamline the handyman work. Meaning, the client goes to the site, picks a work package and books a time. I'm concerned if I put my pricing online, other handymen will just copy me. I don't want to individually explain to them how it works though... any thoughts ?

How to account for gifted laptop?
A family member wants to gift my business a brand new MacBook. I'm an LLC in California. A gift wouldn't be deductible, correct? Would I be able to depreciate it instead?

The U.K. has reported no new Covid-19 deaths for the first time since March 7 last year. The milestone is fueling calls from business for the government to push ahead with the fourth and final stage of unlocking the economy on June 21, including an end to social distancing. Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces a deadly dilemma over whether to stick to his timetable in the face of rising cases of the virus, driven by the Delta variant first identified in India. Outside cleaning/detailing service? Colorado, US.
Hey everyone. I’m currently in the HVAC business working for someone else, supporting my family. I’ve grown increasingly aware of the need for services like gutter cleaning, repair, power washing for outsides of houses, walkways, and window washing. I have thought about starting a business that would revolve around this and potentially grow to landscaping as well. I’m not so worried about startup costs as I am the demand for this type of thing? I’ve done a lot of jobs that involved most of the work. Any kind of feedback or ideas would be awesome from if it’s a good startup that I can do on my own, to any changes in what I could do? Thanks!
