Is it legal to hire people based on physical attributes?

I own a junk removal company. We are growing and so it’s time to hire some more help. Our company name refers to people who are fit and muscular. This is our brand and it sets us apart from competitors. First guy who I hired I met at the gym where I work out at. My question: Would hiring based on physical attributes be a potential legal issue in the future? Would this be considered a discriminatory hiring practice?

I just started a rental company for parties and weddings. I’m taking payment via venmo or cash. My question is, is it normal To ask for that debit/credit card info? Because I’m a bit concerned on how I would recover any fees If my products are stolen or damaged?

Single member LLC contract mentions independent contractor

I recently formed a single member LLC for tax and liability advantages. I have a contract now but it mentions “independent contractor” and my name on behalf of company name. So they still hire me as an independent contractor but just mention me as being contracted on behalf of my company. I wonder if this is a common way of hiring even after forming an LLC? I was expecting that they would hire LLC and my LLC assigns me as contractor but my name doesn’t have to appear in the contract as the independent contractor. Any insights are appreciated.

Hello peoples of the internet, I'm just here asking for your opinions on opening a takeaway restaurant that does custom grilled cheeses, like a subway or five guys but for grilled cheese specifically. So I had been running a business sort of but never filed it as an LLC for the past couple months and just had it as a W-2 1099 self employed. I finally filed for an LLC and got the confirmation. Can you, or is there a way to backdate the income from the previous months before the LLC was formed into the taxes on the LLC S corp election?
