Opportunity to become W2 while maintaining 1099

I am a 1099 contractor with two different companies - through my LLC. I have the opportunity to become a FTE W2 employee with Company #1, and also maintain my 1099 status with Company #2 (yes this is doable and I will not be overwhelmed). I have been 1099’ing since 2018, so it would be a mental shift for me but I am more worried about the expenses/taxes side. What are some things I should take into consideration while contemplating the W2 offer? Are there certain things that I am expensing through my business right now that I would not be able to moving forward (even though the type of work being done for both Companies is the same)? Would I be able to expense my phone and utilities still through my LLC as those expenses would also be used towards my LLC and the 1099 work in addition to the W2 work?

Roadsign/billboard pricing question

I inherited a small commercial lot in a town in Idaho with a local population of about 2500 that has a roadsign on it. The property is on the main drag through the small town a numbered US highway that gets a good amount of vehicle traffic both passing through and local. The whole sign structure has 3 unlit, stacked 4x8 signs on it in each direction (so 6 total signs), with the proper permitting. In my mind, it’s not large enough to be a billboard exactly but more of a stacked roadsign. What is a fair price to charge per sign?

There are a lot of factors in that kind of business and I wanted to venture out to an industry that is more in demand now. The tech industry has been booming for the last two decades and the new AI revolution will help it keep the momentum. In my service field, AI has helped me manage my projects and cut down on work time by half. A lot of organizational tasks and tracking can be done much faster with the help of AI. I'm looking for ideas on where else can someone use AI's help and what would make you want to use it. Also, what would be something that might attract your attention towards that? Phone reselling idea from different states

I live in Darwin at Australia I buy phones for cheap on marketplace and resell them There’s good bargains in other states (Melbourne, Sydney etc) My idea is to hire someone from the other states to go collect them, FaceTime me to inspect them because I know how to identify faults well, then ship them to me, all of which would generally take an hour The problems is it’s risky for me -what if my employee runs off with the phone when I payId the seller -what if my employee runs off with the money when I transfer it to him to purchase it from the seller Is there a way to mitigate this security risk? Should I get legal somehow and make them sign some sort of contract? What would you suggest? Also having the seller ship it themselves is not an option, 90% of the time they want to make the deal in person hence why I’d need to hire someone

Type of LLC for Out of State Vacation Rental

Hi All, I am currently living in AL and own a second home in WV. I would like to short term rent (AirBnb, Vrbo) the home the months I am not there on vacation. In order to separate my personal and rental business finances I would like to form an LLC. Since the home has a conventional second home mortgage, I will likely not include it in the LLC. From a liability standpoint, I plan to get short term rental insurance with an umbrella policy. My question is: Do I form the LLC in AL or in WV if I do not plan to include the home in the LLC? If the short term rental business does well, I would like to purchase another home in the same WV area, but this will be a dedicated investment property with its own LLC and not just my vacation home. If my company buys stake in other companies, what kind of company is my company classified as?

I know a holdings company owns controlling stake in a business, but what if my company owns, say 100% of 1 business and 4% of another. Is this still considered a holdings company?

Idea for business involving COMICS + ML/Fx/gaming?

Hi guys - this is another "what business can I do" type of question but I hope the details provided below are sufficient. I am - an aspiring comic artist - a beginner learner machine learning (by which I mean I took a few datacamp courses) - main hobby is video games - dabbled in MT4 expert advisor forex trading before, and I am considering revisiting this I realise I am not at all skilled in any of the above fields individually (say 2-3/10s) but I was hoping that even by combining 2 or 3 skills that are 3/10s I can build something that can be a 5/10 at least? Capital wise: I'm not really sure. But say 100/month?
