Why can't we take photos of exoplanets?
I understand they are dark and do not shine like stars, but why aren't they illuminated by their stars, like our pale blue planet? I'm sure there's a simple answer like they're too darn far away or something.

DSO With 8" dobsonian
Hi everyone, i hope you're all doing well. I have the Apertura AD8 and i wanna know what deep sky objects i can see other than pleiades, orion nebula and the andromeda galaxy. It's been 2 years since i had my telescope and i wanna see more than just the planets and moon and occasionally these 3 DSOs. I live in Bortle 7 area but i can go to better places if the DSOs will be visible. Thanks

Are there any stars/constellations that are named after the pelican bird?
Odd question I know, but I was wondering if there were any stars or constellations named after the pelican bird. My searching has all come up with some piece of NASA tech that is named after a pelican. Even if it is an old name for the star/constellation that isn't used anymore but still related to pelicans, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Do you listen to music while stargazing?
I sometimes do, but I prefer silence. I really recommend Ecstasy of Gold and Mars, the Bringer of War. Listened to both with the Milky Way arching overhead; felt the most intense chills of my life.
