Should I take over the family business?

My family owns a small engine shop. Its been open for over 25+ years, and I grew up mostly working on the equipment but also generally helped run the place. I haven't worked there full time in a few years, and I'm still a mechanic. To get to the point I would love to work for myself and I know there are a lot of obvious positives. However all of the employees are in their 70s including the technicians , and as of right now it is profitable but just not very profitable. Another big negative is that most of the business is sales, parts, and service of lawn equipment so it is a major financial struggle throughout the winter. In all does it seem worth the risk to take it over? I'm just looking for some honest opinions.

Etsy business advertising.

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this community. I am entering the jewelry business as an entrepreneur since working with gold has been my absolute pleasure. I started my shop on Etsy and was wondering what are ways to increase traffic onto my shop and as well expand to other advertisements in regards of jewelry advertising with Etsy. Stocking software solutions

I am expanding an import business and want to move away from the excel sheets into a software that will allow me to input inventory, print bar code labels on the stock and then scan as they are removed and shipped. In summary a basic inventory management software that can interface with QB. This is a 500k company that will never be over 5mil with less than 500 products. Any suggestions?

I need retail advice!

So… I just got my first offer from a retail store. I am selling them my products wholesale. They have been incredibly patient with me, but very poor on feedback. I want to make things as easy as possible for them. They have seemed happy-ish with my current system, but I know it’s far from perfect. How do I help them? Do I offer them a physical order form? Digital order form? I have no clue what the industry standards are who wholesaling B2B. Thank you in advance

Inventory Management for iOS + Notion?

Greetings. Like many of you, I am operating a small but growing business. I've reached the point where I really need better visibility of my raw materials so that I can order more before they run out, reduct storage cost for slow-moving products and for accounting purposes. Ideally, I'd have a simple app on my iPhone that I can scan the existing, supplier provided UPC barcode on my supplies, and have this updated (whether it is supplies received, or supplies consumed) in a Notion (notion.so) database. Currently, I'm managing maybe 2-3 dozen different items and for each I may keep a dozen in inventory at a time. Does anyone have experience with something like this? Is this possible without too much trouble?

really frustrated with chargebacks

I had a customer input the wrong address for delivery. It was successfully delivered to the address the customer provided. The customer emails us of the mistake they made. We ask them to reach out to USPS and their neighbor which it was delivered to. Still nothing unfortunately. The customer then threatens us with a chargeback and somehow wins. We provided evidence that the customer admitted to the mistake. This isn't the first time this has happened. The customer makes a mistake and the business pays for it. We lose the product, money, an extra fee, and our account is dinged. We're on Shopify. We're not Amazon and cannot afford to refund every mistake a customer makes. Is this the cost of doing business? Are customers just used to receiving refunds for any excuse? It really hurts small businesses when customers do this and the customers just don't seem to care or realize that it does.

Share 50% of profits with staff. What would be the outcome?

If have 4 employees. They are all top quality characters and work hard without being watched. I already share a percentage of the profit each month with them as a bonus on top of their pay but I wondered about going further and giving 50% of company profits every month to the staff. I'd split it depending on how many hours each had worked that month. What do you think would be the outcome? What are the pros and cons?
