€45k company car recommendations

Say i'm 23, no kids, want good exterior and interior (subjective i know) Which cars around the *45k mark would you recommend? I'd like at least 150bhp, preferably awd or rwd, automatic and a decent amount of options before reaching that 45k mark (parking cam + sensors, panoramic roof, tinted windows, heated seats, ...) *€45k Belgian prices

Do fender flares and splash guards prevent rust?

Had a significant rust issue on my 2011 Ford Escape (common issue), where the fenders (above the wheel well) rusted. There is also rust inside the wheel well likely from water and salt, which is affecting the shock tower. I was wondering if black fender flares and splash guards prevent rust? Should I look at buying a new vehicle that has fender flares and splash guards as options? I am from Ontario Canada, and we have harsh winters and muddy roads nearby. Thank you for your help/advice.
