I think I just got scammed.

I attempted to pre Buy digitoad from the website by connecting my trust wallet. I accidentally visited digitoad.tech instead of digitoad.world. Immediately $400 worth of Pepe and $250 worth of ethereum was pulled out of my trust wallet. This is the first time I have been scammed. Does anybody know of any recourse I can take to try to get my funds back? I have the recipients wallet address, and the transaction data in my trust wallet. Are any of my other funds at further risk? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think of people that claim crypto is very beneficial for criminal enterprises?

A few obvious points from the get go- Just about any type of money can be used for criminals and gangs. If one wants you can literally deal in tons cash bills and smuggle that around, though that obviously has ita risks. I guess one of the unique aspects of crypto is that you can wire it around without anyone being able to know exactly where and when it's going and not being able to trace it. IE- block chain can be used for the benefits of secrecy. I still don't personally buy the argument against crypto just cause it can be abused. Anything can be abused. That said- how to rebut when people make those claims? 🍃📊🌙

MicroStrategy (Michael Saylor) invested more money into Bitcoins than there's nominal GDP of 36 countries

So MicroStrategy bought exactly 140,000 Bitcoins at the average price of $29,803, which means they invested 4.172 billion USD just into Bitcoin. This amount of money invested is more than there's nominal annual GDP of 36 countries in the world. Of course few of them are smaller island countries with just thousands of people, but amongst them are even countries with millions of people, albeit poorer ones. For example Burundi with more than 10 million people living in it has smaller nominal GDP than what MicroStrategy just invested into Bitcoin in timespan of like 2 years. https://preview.redd.it/faowxk7l4n1b1.png?width=873&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=afb6ae0906e74410e9ae888e078b3a88a9d7994b With the way Michael Saylor and his company are accumulating Bitcoin, soon they might have enough funds in Bitcoin to just make their own country with own set of crypto rules.

Don’t follow the financial ‘advice’ of influencers and celebrities!!

If any influencer or celebrity is shilling you the next cool thing just know that they don’t actually care about you or about the project that they are shilling as they are only there to generate hype and get paid. This is especially true in the Crypto space where most hype based projects are much more risky as they are likely to be a rug pull or lose all their value in a few days. Have I mentioned they don’t care about what the project is or how successful it will be as they get paid and are most likely not connected too deeply with it other than just shilling it to their fans and moving on to the next way to make easy money!!! I have seen many projects ranging from NFTs to Currency tokens shilled by influencers and celebrities that are either rug pulls or just don’t have anything of substance so proceed to be abandoned after losing their initial hype.

Fake Amazon AMZ "pre-sale" token DERQ51 ZORJ33

Be careful about a fake coin market cap youtube channel shilling some garbage about an Amazon token (AMZN). I reported the video as a scam to YouTube. You can check out the scam here: [YouTube Video of Scam](https://youtu.be/Klm5-cBm-ys) The guy whose shilling this is also associated with a youtube channel called [CoinMarketCap](https://www.youtube.com/@Coinmarketdaily) who looks shady AF. Check out the comments, many accounts supporting this were made within one month. Also there are tons of bots. Stay safe out there folks!

How do I Resolve BTC Gifts with the IRS?

Trying to understand tax implications (if any) for BTC gifts or "anonymised" wallets. Let's say I received 1 BTC from someone who bought using an exchange at 40K USD. Do I pay taxes on that BTC as a gift of 40K? Further down the line after running it through mixers and such, I decide to sell it at 30K from an exchange, and I assume the exchange reports this transaction to the IRS. This taxable event is triggered but how does the IRS know it's considered a loss? And moreover, if I didn't have the knowledge of what the gift was valued at, how would I know to report it as realized gains/losses? Thanks for any and all info.
