My child told me her stepbrothers touch her vagina and bottom
My child, 6(F), came to me last night in tears and told me she needed to talk to me. She said it’s been going on for a long time. She said her stepbrothers, one that is her age and one who is only 3, will make her pull her pants down and touch her vagina and bottom. She said through her tears that she didn’t like it and she didn’t want to but they wouldn’t leave her alone. She said it was mostly the boy who is her age doing this. She begged me not to tell her father because she thought he would be mad at her. Of course I did tell him and he doesn’t believe her and told me to relax. I have had to call CPS before for neglect because I felt she wasn’t being watched there (lots of kids over there) and now this. I am trying to get emergency custody, does this seem like the best route? Any suggestions here?

Negativity
Why is everyone so negative. Like we have an newborn that has been really chill. My wife and I know that there will be tough roads ahead but like everyone has been like “it’s about to get so much worse” and “just wait because you are never going to sleep.” I’m like… Jesus, can’t you people just be happy about how we are doing now and saying that they will support us if the going gets rough. It makes me so angry I don’t even want these people around me. Anyone else been experiencing this!

To the moms & dads who..
Are working hard to give your babies the best life, you can do it. You got this. Today I picked up my cap & gown for graduation on Thursday with my Health Sciences Associates. I had my boy over spring break during my last semester & was able to finish strong with a 3.7 GPA & Honors. I’m on to my nursing program starting in July. Also got a job offer at my OB’s office after a pp check up (lol). I’m so proud.. & for all of us working hard for our families, no matter how exhausted we might be but we still keep going, we should be proud. It’s so worth it.

Breastfed baby diarrhea
What does it look like? I can't find any pictures online and they all say yellow and watery. Well that's very descriptive since that's what breastfed baby's poop looks like normally 😐

Downstairs neighbors smoke indoors
I’m nearing 36 weeks pregnant, and I live in a condo. The condo has 4 apartments: two upstairs and two downstairs. It’s an old building built in the late 1950s My downstairs neighbors smoke cigarettes inside. The smell is apparent in the common area (small entrance and staircase). I have tried contacting the HOA and town fire marshall but unfortunately I have no rights to stop them from smoking inside. Moreover, for a multitude of reasons, I cannot talk to them directly about this. I frequently keep windows open in the house. I also have 3 HEPA air filters - one for reach room. We also have brand new air conditioning window units. I’m very concerned about the effects of second & third hand smoke with a newborn. Is there anything else I can do to minimize the risks? Btw - we plan on moving as soon as we are financially able to

F*ck the Patriarchy!
I constantly think/say things like "fuck the patriarchy" but then I wonder if I should iron my husband's work shirts before I hang them 🤣

How do you put a baby to sleep?
So, idk if this makes me a shitty parent but the way i’ve been putting my baby to sleep is laying her down in her bassinet/pack and play bassinet and laying down beside her and putting her pacifier in her mouth until she falls asleep. Well we have to take out the bassinet insert in the pack and play now and I can’t do the same thing to get her to sleep. She doesn’t really fall asleep easily in my arms and if she does, as soon as i put her down she wakes up. I have no idea how to put a baby to sleep.

I’m awful!
My 7 month old daughter is always clawing me with her little razor claws. Yes I file them, but they grow at some supernatural rate. She likes to get the tender back skin of my arms, my face, and occasionally my eyeballs. She just got herself in the face, something she rarely does, and before I knew what was happening I said “Ha! That’s what you get you little!”

Teenage son DESPISES the doctor
My son is 16, 17 in a week, and he has a doctor’s appointment today. As of now, he’s currently at school but he was in tears about it this morning. Every time he goes to the doctor, he cries about it, but I don’t know what makes him act this way and not even he does. He’s autistic and has a history of trauma (physical abuse and sexual harassment that happened on school grounds - he switched schools and is no longer being abused at school) which I believe is the root. He has his own solution, he plays games on his phone while waiting to destress, but today, he can’t because it broke and stopped recognizing the SIM card (he’s getting a new one for his birthday) which makes the crying even worse. Every other time, his phone has been working properly. My question is how to help him not get upset anymore about the doctor.

Is the Tripp Trapp worth it?
LO is about to start solids so in preparation we’ve been exploring high chair options. I was looking at the Stokke Tripp Trapp (and their Clikk chair which we ruled out) and it seems like a good investment but it’s very pricey. If you have one, would you say it’s worth the hype and the $? Or if not, what are some alternatives I could look into? I’m Europe based so some US options may not be available to me. Thanks for the input. I don’t know what I would do without this community 💪

The Let Down
I just discovered and binge watched all of “The Let Down” on Netflix during my baby’s naps the past few days. It’s an Australian show all about being a new parent. It’s a comedy but I definitely found a reason to cry pretty much every episode, for example in the first episode everyone telling the main character she’s breastfeeding wrong and trying to show her by touching her and I remember how overwhelming that exact experience was for me in the hospital. I highly recommend it.

Overwhelmed by strolelrs?
Stroller research is whack yo. The the uppababy vista with car seat twice as good at the chico bravo with key fit 35 car seat. Because its priced twice as high as the chico. Isnt 1500 dollars for a stroller and car seat really high? I mean if its worth it I'd get it. Would you consider getting a used uppababy vista stroller from 2018 with a bassinet and then buying a new car seat to go on it?

Husband "wasted so much time" planning a trip
That he wanted to take over Memorial Day weekend and that he began looking at hotels for - that's right - Monday evening. Needless to say, he realized it won't be happening. But I didn't appreciate the part where he told me I "wasn't helping" because when he started to widen his search to other weekends and asked me what we were doing on that date I told him to check the shared calendar. Why he wants to do anything at all with a toddler who won't stay in the stroller and a five year old that will just complain about wanting to be home the entire time is beyond me. You know who typically "wastes their time" on these kinds of things? Want to know who doesn't "need help" coordinating things because they're capable of planning ahead? Of course. It's me. I'm feeling some type of way right now.
