The sunsets lately have been so beautiful and I haven’t wanted to miss a single one. We’ve been out in the field taking pictures at sunrise, then we do farm/work stuff all day, and then head back out with the camera at sunset. It makes for crazy long days but this beauty will be gone soon and we’re trying to capture every drop of magic that we can. P.S. this beauty needs a name 💕#discoveringdahlias #floretseeds #dahlias

This is my very favorite spot on the farm right now - the anemone flowered dahlia field! We have so many exciting things coming up this fall, including two big seed sales, our scholarship program, the Fall Mini Course and registration for the Floret Online Workshop. There are a lot of important dates to keep in mind over the next couple of months so we created a special workshop waitlist so you don’t miss any of the details. To sign up for the waitlist, visit the link in my profile. #floretseeds #dahlia #discoveringdahlias #floretworkshop #farmerflorist #flowerfarmer

Nigella, also known as love-in-a-mist, is one of my very favorite hardy annuals because you can use both the flowers and the pods in bouquets. Saving seed from these plants is incredibly easy, just leave a few plants in your garden and let them ripen. When you see little vents at the top open and the black seeds can be collected and stored away until you’re ready to sow them. If you aren’t growing any this year but want to give it a try next season, we’ll have hardy annual seed for sale on September 7 at 9:00 am PST. There’s a link in my bio to preview our line up! #floretseeds #seedsaving #farmerflorist #flowerfarmer
