A man who served as a sniper in the British Army, and wishes to remain anonymous, has flown to Ukraine to fight against Russia and says his wife is going to “freak out” when she finds out where he truly is. No kidding 😳 "The Ukrainians need experience and I’ve got that. I couldn’t sit back and watch this unfold. I can help with my background. If I don’t come back, then so be it," he told The Sun.

Medical student Muhammad Talha was denied travel after refusing to leave his 11-month-old Husky Oscar behind, but has now made it to safety in Poland after finally being allowed to board a train with his companion 🙌 "No airline would allow me to travel to Pakistan with Oscar and many guards stopped us from boarding trains to Poland. We were completely stuck but I couldn't take a decision that would involve leaving my baby. Lots of my friends who managed to leave Ukraine told me, 'Come on, it's only an animal which costs less than your life'. But I refused to leave Oscar behind," he explained. "I wasn't scared for me - I was just scared for my innocent boy with me. My hosts in Poland are treating me like one of their family. We are fed and taken care of well. I join them for family dinner and Oscar is holding up alright, making friends with our hosts' dogs. "All of the trouble has been worth it for the love I have received from this Polish family." ❤️ 📸 SWNS

Mila Kunis - who was born in Ukraine before moving to the US - and her husband Ashton Kutcher have vowed to match up to $3million (£2.5 million) in donations to support Ukrainian refugees. Speaking in a video message, they said: "While we are witnessing the bravery of Ukrainians, we are also bearing witness to the unimaginable burden of those who have chosen safety. "Countless amounts of people have left everything they know and love behind to seek refuge. With nothing but what they could carry, these Ukrainian refugees are in need of housing and supplies right away." The funds raised will go to Flexport, which is organising aid deliveries to refugee sites in neighbouring countries, and AirBnB, to provide free short-term housing for Ukraine’s refugees. The fund has already raised more than $3m, with Kunis and Kutcher aiming to raise $30m in total (£25m) 👏
