Is putting your child in day care full time really as bad as everyone says it is?
I have an 18 month old and I'm considering returning to the workforce around his second birthday. I originally wanted to just do part time and have my mom watch him on certain days that I'm working but financially a part time job won't help too much especially since we don't get benefits from my husband's work. Also my mom and I have bucked heads the entire time I've been home with my son. She disagrees with how I've sleep trained him and she constantly gives in to him on things I don't allow. I'm afraid if I leave him in her care for a large part of the day, she will basically undo all my previous parenting. I think I might want to put him in daycare 5 days a week but my mom insists this is "wrong" for children who are under 3. Other mothers constantly talk about how you'll basically have no time to work because your kid will be home sick all the time. How much of this is true? Do people out there have toddlers under 3 who are thriving with full time daycare?

What small animal does your baby remind you of?
My baby is three months now and it was more of a thing when she was tiny, but still especially when she’s fallen asleep eating and wakes up a little bit looking for a nipple and moving her little hands around all funny she reminds me of a baby animal but I can never place which one! Sometimes a chipmunk, sometimes a squirrel, a lot of the time a bunny, but I feel like there’s a more accurate one I’m not thinking of. So I’m curious what everyone else thinks of!!

Preparing for our son's first day away with the grandparents
Basically the title. I have no idea how to start planning something like this. Is it really just as simple as just bring him to the grandparents to have him stay over with them? For reference, he was born at the end of 2019, right before the start of the pandemic, meaning that he's spent almost his entire life so far with just us. Neither of our parents live in town, so they've never watched him alone for more than a few hours, tops. We don't want him to never stay over with family, but after so long of him being solely in our care, it's kinda hard to go for it. We desperately need some real alone time, and I know my parents have been dying for a chance to keep him over. We did the "rip the bandage off" method of getting him into daycare; is that really the way we could do it? How have other parents done this before?

My son is struggling with something but I can't figure out what it is.
My son (8m) is in 2nd grade has been having behavioral issues at school. He struggles with paying attention, following directions, and being disruptive in class. I have my suspicions that he might have ADHD but has not been diagnosed. I am in regular contact with his teacher and principal and he visits with the school counselor once a week. I also had him in counseling related to some anxiety he developed around the pandemic. He seemed to be doing better but has had 2 outbursts this week where he has screamed at the other kids and thrown things. I am at a loss of what to do next, this kind of behavior is obviously not ok but it is clear to me that there is a deeper issue here but I can't figure it out.

How are you a 'bad' parent?
Sometimes, others remind us that parenting has to be *flawless* - y'know, the hail-to-the-PTA parent (trademark pending) at your child's school, your least favorite relative cornering you at a family gathering, or even the random stranger eyeing you in the grocery store. But we're human, sometimes more so than those spectators - or even we ourselves - are willing to admit. So... how are you a 'bad' parent, and why? I'll start: I let my kids watch the Office with me. I have Endometriosis, so times can get painful for me, and unwinding with the show can help.

Stepkids and my kids.
So my daughter is four years old and her half-sisters are much older than them, they are adults. But recently I have been seeing weird behaviour, my daughter being very bratty and my son refusing to eat my food. I know my daughter can be stubborn but my heart sunk when overheard their conversation: Half-sister: "come here," she said to my daughter My daughter replied: "why" Half-sister: "you don't say why, I am your old sister, you listen to me when I tell you to come here" she sounded aggressive then says to my son "when I call him, he comes, he doesn't ask why" I might be overreacting but that made my insides feel weird. I am wrong for feeling this way or....

Good products or just gimmicks?
I feel the corporate world is full of pregnancy and baby related products that just don't work. Two I've seen lately that peek my interest are Belly Bandit (supports belly after birth with after photos of flat bellies) and Mighty Mama Movement (natural ways to reduce pain during labor). Are these for real or just another way to steal our money? If you know of other products that look great but are really awful (or vice versa) feel free to share those, too.
