Shirlene Hernandez, from San Antonio, Texas, recently visited her local Shell petrol station to pick up a Diet Coke. A quick stop-off soon became a nightmare for the 72-year-old when a man savagely beat her before stealing her car, leaving the pensioner with severe injuries. The thief approached her, punched her in the face several times and swiped the keys from her hands before driving away. Three witnesses tried to tackle the man, but he managed to flee. Soon after the carjacking, police found Hernandez's car totalled on the interstate, with the driver dying as a result of the crash. Speaking to KABB, Hernandez said: "There’s a lot of people who would say what goes around comes around, karma. I did not think that; the only thing I got [was] really sad because he had died. The former world champion from Bolton was in the East London area of Leyton with his wife Faryal Makhdoom on Monday evening when he claimed to have been robbed by two men for the Franck Muller Geneve timepiece. Khan quickly took to his social media accounts to confirm he’d been robbed, but that he and his wife were safe after the incident. He wrote: "Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me.
