My kids have been sick for almost 3 weeks now with this "cold". Anyone else?
They're up, they're down, they get better then they get worse. This "cold" is f****** nasty, way worse than when they caught covid. I'm losing my mind over here.

The ABCs of physical literacy refer to four basic capacities that support human movement, and are essential to developing the fundamental movement skills that form the foundation of physical literacy. Read more about them, here: https://t.co/QpCLIXxtgd

Anyone else get annoyed by people claiming the baby looks like a relative?
My MIL sees nothing of me in my children… lol. I love her to death but I got super annoyed how she thought my son “looked like his cousin,” which… I saw zero resemblance to. He definitely doesn’t have many of my features, but looks like my husband’s clone. And now the same with my daughter. All of the sudden she looks like my SIL’s clone, who is filipino and latino (and definitely looks way more filipino than anything.) I once again see zero resemblance. I am white and my husband is latino (his sister and him have different dads.) My daughter looks like a latino version of me. I really don’t understand why there is a need to say the baby looks like a relative that had zero influence over the gene pool. Not logical imo. Just needed to rant a little.

Prayer requests
Hi everyone! I love you all so much and care about you all so I just thought I’d throw this out there for anyone who felt inclined to post. If anyone wants/needs prayer for whatever reason, drop a comment below and I will pray hard for whatever you need. You don’t need to be religious and you don’t need to share anything in detail. You can just say “I need prayer” and I’ll pray for you. Love you all! And if anyone wants to pray for me PLEASE do. I’m having a bit of a rough patch in my marriage and could use some prayer. Thanks everyone!!!

How do I get my kid to clean up after themself?
They play and make a mess, and then say they don't want to clean it up. I tell them they have to, they say no. I plead with them to, still no. I explain how it hurts me to look at the mess and kindly ask them to clean, still they say no. I'm not going to spank them, so the only option I can think of is to throw their toys away (which I DON'T want to do). Does anyone have any advice?

What's the difference between a licensed in home daycare and one that's not?
Genuine question. I'm scrambling to find childcare and am finding that centers are pretty much filled (unsurprisingly).

Realized I dont associate the name anymore.
I left an emotionally abusive relationship about 9 years ago. For years I hated the name and got all kinds of emotions when I heard it. I realized today, just a moment ago...that I no longer associate his name to him anymore. The name is common...( lets say John) and today while emailing somebody name John, I just picture the person I was emailing and not my ex. I dont know when this shift happened, but I noticed it today and it was a pleasant realization. For any bromos going through shit with exs right now. It will get better.

Today's installment about messy rooms: I can't find my homework. We've all been there. But what, if anything, do we do about it? A little #wednesdaywisdom from @LDamour https://t.co/cLfIeWgtCX

any advice or comforting words - 6 month old has covid
My six month old son just tested positive for covid. He has a runny nose, slight cough, and fever. Unfortunately he has only had the first dose of the moderna vaccine (we were waiting the required period between doses). I'm trying not to get overly worried. I know the majority of infants without underlying health conditions come out if it just fine, but I would really appreciate any advice or positive stories. Thanks so much!

Using a vasectomy as a temporary form of birth control?
Is this a thing? We are due in December and we want to wait at least 3 years before having another. I was on hormonal birth control for 9 years and really do not want to go back on.

I don't know what to do
We received a call from the school counselor that my son 8 got in trouble today and had a complete meltdown over it and ended up stabbing himself with a pencil. I just have no idea how to handle this, he has always gotten in trouble in school from time to time and at home he is typically quite hard on himself and I have been trying to improve that to the best of my ability with what I know. but never has he behaved like this. This is the 2nd meltdown this year that he has had last time he was breaking things. My husband (his dad) truly think that he needs to be given a good spank and says he is now concidering military school as to him this is the last straw basically. I really just don't know how to handle this behavior or how to convince my husband that this will not help.

Can my ex sue to be the custodial parent after 12 years?
They live an hour away, we have a stable home, so do they. We get along fine, no problem. Anyways I have this random fear that they're going to sue to be the custodial parent. We have the 1/3/5 schedule + every Thursday night. In Texas is it likely that they could sue and win? My child is also 12 and have expressed that he wants to live here with us instead of them bc of school/friends/sports. He said if they lived closer then maybe he'd live with them, but they are very far from us. I have horrible ptsd from court 12 years ago when I was 19, they're asking me.some questions so they can do paperwork and jt sparked my anxiety like crazy

Would this bother you?
I went on a field trip with my child’s class ( Pre-K 3-5 year olds) and one of the other child’s parents that came were sharing drinks with random children that weren’t their own. The dad had an aluminum water bottle and let this little boy drink out of it and said “I brought this for us to all share”. And the couple was sharing the aluminum water bottle as well as the moms personal water bottle which was apparently watermelon flavored with children during their snack time. I felt really uncomfortable by this because if I wasn’t there they might’ve shared drinks with my child too. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting I just feel like this is totally inappropriate because 1. There was flavoring in one of the waters and how would they know if a child had an allergy? 2. With all the germs going around this time of the year plus COVID that just seems fucking gross.
