In 1995, Eileen Collins became the first woman to pilot the space shuttle on STS-63. Four years she made history again as the first woman to command a space shuttle mission on STS-93. She has logged over 872 hours in space across four spaceflights. #WomensHistoryMonth https://t.co/adJ5P2ROz5

The universe is painting us a picture! 🎨 This jellyfish galaxy, known as JW100, shows streams of star-forming gas that drip from the galaxy like wet paint. These tendrils form as the galaxy moves through space, and gas and dust are stripped from it. Hubble observed JW100 as part of a series meant to explore star formation. The tendrils show astronomers how stars can form under extreme conditions and can help them understand star formation elsewhere in the universe. Image Description: A thin spiral galaxy is seen edge-on in the lower right. Its center and arms are very bright, mixing reddish and bluish light. Patchy blue trails extend below it, resembling tentacles, made from star-forming regions. Six small, reddish elliptical galaxies are scattered around. A very large elliptical galaxy with two cores sits by the top of the frame.
