The supernova goes pop

So most people interested know Betelguese is dying and sometime in the near future(on a stars timeline) will likely go supernova. I was curious if there's estimations of the amount of energy that will be produced and/or the luminosity that will occur. Esoteric question, I know, haven't found any data on it yet. I thought I saw something that said it would be several times brighter than the moon. Idk if that accurate though.

New Telescope owner issue

Hello guys ! I recently bought a **Sky-Watcher 130m** as a first telescope and after beginning to get to know the EQ2 mount i ran into a issue regarding the R.A scale on the mount itself. So basically the metal plate itself is moving freely (left to right see picture) and i am not sure if its a defect or its supposed to be like that. As a machinist I know scales are stationary and move relative to a surface, but i don't know if it is different into the astronomy world. I've watched a couple of videos and read all the manuals but nothing mentions if the R.A scale is supposed to move or not. I know when setting up you gotta start from polaris but i dont know if you are supposed to reset the scale to 0 then or something like that. Many thanks in advance. https://preview.redd.it/s1wvg8nfvt3b1.png?width=639&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=33a8ea906be0d16ec8b32a17f9a3f9ff0e35be3f
