Yogis, what makes a great yoga teacher?

I just graduated my YTT in April, and I start teaching my first class ever next Sunday. I'm super nervous to teach and want to make sure I do the best job I can while teaching. My studio owner is having me do rotations of gentle flow/yin/restorative classes on Sundays right now. In your opinion, what are the best things a teacher can do for you in those styles of classes (what alignments/asanas/adjustments/props do you really enjoy, etc.?)

How our breath and emotions work together

I believe that this is the fundamental root of all joy nourishing practices where you see a yogi suddenly enters into a state of joy through will, they are only reminding themselves of how joy impacts they’re breathe and remembering how it feels. Then, they just build that energy over time by bathing in it and letting it seep into their beings.

How to overcome the fear in bakasana, pincha and others

I feel like my practice is quite advance for some asana and breathing techniques. However I look like a beginner since I am not able to do yet pincha nor bakasana. I don't understand if it is because of fear or lack of technique. Let me know your experience with this asana. For example I can't even imagine myself trying pincha without wall nor kapalasana

Is it expected for your foot and calf to seize up during extended big toe / utthita hasta padangustasana?

During Ashtanga I need to come out of these balancing postures early. It’s not because I lose balance or grip, it’s because of an achey, weak feeling in my standing foot and/or calf (both sides) that becomes too much to bear. Do I need to build strength in some leg muscles or is this a circulation or nerve issue? Thanks in advance.

I’m sorry- but what deodorant should people use for hot yoga??

I don’t know if this is where I should be asking this sorry!! But holy crap. My deodorant clumping and sweating off, smearing on my mat during hot yoga is infuriating me and almost ruining my practices. It sweats to my arms, gets all over my clothes sometimes. Ugh. I know it might be gross but these are the issues I NEED to find a solution to. I’ve done research on workout deodorant, sweat proof, whatever. None of this sh*t works right. I always assure myself during class in my head “no one is looking at me, stop focusing on it.” But I cannot help it from distracting me. IM looking at it. IM judging it. If anyone has any help they can give I will love you forever. Thanks.

Hi fellow yogis. Im doing yoga for couple of years now, for my spirit and body. Yoga somewhat saved me and gave me another perpective, but I have a feeling im just stagnating a bit… Some inspiration would be nice. Striking Cobra hurting Shoulder

I have been doing Yoga on Peloton recently and I have been in several classes where they are using the Chaturanga Variation or the striking Cobra. I have never felt shoulder pain in a typical Chaturanga but noticed a lot of clicking and aching after trying this variation. I have been listening to my body and taking it a lot slower if not switching back to the basic one. But when I am in the flow and it is going quick, sometimes there is little time to make that switch or I forget. Wondering if anyone else had experienced this, or if maybe you have tips where I can avoid injuring my shoulders. I feel like it stems from the rotation your shoulders need to do to get into the upward facing dog. Much appreciation!
