Boss wants me to have a buisness license to work
I've been at this company for about 6 months now and my boss is telling me I've got to get a buisness license. He keeps telling me that I'll get a raise when I do it, currently sitting at 12 an hour and I paint. I just don't really understand why, it seems sketchy. I've looked into it and it says I wouldn't be self employed if I have a boss. Also, my taxes will go up. Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind it.

SOS: Brands Not Returning My Wholesale Inquiry — Where Am I Going Wrong?
I’m in the process of opening an online, concept store (niche + indie fragrances only) and I’m trying to understand what my expenses will look like to get the business up and running. I compiled a list of fragrance brands I’d want to carry, and compiled their wholesale contact info. I started emailing brands last Friday, and I haven’t heard back from a single brand yet. Is my wholesale inquiry maybe too vague? I did a lot of research before I drafted mine, but maybe I’m missing the mark. Is it because my email domain doesn’t match the name of my future business? Happy to share what I’ve been sending, and looking forward to any advice before I reach out to any additional brands.

Workers Compensation Question. TIFU?
In October of last year I started a small business. This is my first venture in owning and operating a business so I'm learning a lot as I go. I met with an insurance company and thought I purchased workers comp insurance but apparently I didn't. At the time I had no employees other than myself and I think the insurance company told me I didn't need any as I did not have any employees... until January. I hired someone early this year and I will be honest, I forgot to buy workers comp insurance. I got a notice in the mail from the state (NY) saying I need to respond and show proof of insurance. My heart dropped. I immediately purchased a policy and just filled out an online form but the penalties are apparently $2,000 for every 10 day period. I could be looking at a $10,000 penalty over a simple mistake. Am I screwed here?

Starting small biz. biz partner has bad credit
So my Business Partner ("BP") and I have started a small biz and have formed a corporation and an LLC for one aspect of the business. My BP has terrible credit I come to find out and when we applied for a biz banking account with a local bank, I received a rejection the following day. Now, I have really good credit and I am not sure why it rejected it. Turns out, my BP has terrible credit. I don't know her specifics or spending history. But, a call to this bank advised it was her credit that tanked it. Obviously, such a discussion, while important, is something I don't want her to feel bad about and put her under more stress. What can I do to get us an account? I am fine opening a regular checking/savings account for now for myself to use as our corp account while she fixes her issues. Is this a viable solution? or not? What options do we have to keep our business formation(s) whole and legal?

How long did it take you to start seeing a payback
I took the leap and started my e-commerce business. I opened two weeks ago and got 4 orders. Some from strangers, some from family and friends. I worked everything by myself and although im proud of the sales I got Ive been sitting here wondering how long it takes to see anything substantial. My partner has been an absolute saint and allowed me to take a year and focus on my business and letting it grow. Im trying to get over those initial jitters.

Business logo redesign
I took over an existing business last year. I was thinking about changing/creating a new logo for the business. The current one, to me, looks a bit dated. I googled, looks like there's an overwhelming amount of companies that do this kind of work and charge a very wide range for pricing. I wanted to know, what's your experience with creating a company logo? Which company did you use? What is a good price range for a logo design? Thanks in advance!

Proper NAICS code for bakery
I'm looking to open a small bakery for cakes and cookies. I wanted it to be a home bakery but realize licencing would be more difficult to get as I'm currently renting an apartment which might not have zoning for that. So I'll be most likely renting a commercial kitchen hourly. Looking for the correct NAICS code for such a bakery. Any help would be such a help.
