“I’m just a fat mom”
I was watching The Office - and there’s a scene where Pam says she used to be pretty and now she’s just a fat mom - and I just broke. I cried and cried and cried, because that’s exactly how I feel. I used to be desirable and felt sexy, and now I am tired and snappy and feel like crap most of the time, and I look at my body and I don’t recognise the rolls of fat and the shelf where my c-section scar pulls in, and the way my hips have widened and the fact my hair hasn’t really grown back and the fact I look 10 years older than I feel. I used to be pretty and have a wonderful career and people looked up to me. And now I’m just a fat mom.

Has anyone else lost all of their "good looks" after having baby or is it just me?
I'm 6 month PP and my partner pointed out that I look like a completely different person from a year ago. And He is absolutely right. My hair is not as curly as it was, my skin constantly breaks out, I have dark circles under my eyes. I haven't lost any weight. I wear the same three baggy t shirts I wore while pregnant (and maternity jeans tbh) and an oversized jacket. I have no motivation to do my hair/makeup/paint my toe nails/shave (tmi but true)/lose the weight. I genuinely loved being "put together" and enjoyed doing it too! Now I can't even keep up with anything more than basic hygiene. I'm not sure if I have PPD/anxiety or if it's regular depression/anxiety (if there is even a difference?) Does anyone have any experience or advice?

I just need to tell someone
I posted here a few months ago about how I had lost my daughter, Mabel, at 25 weeks to a placental abruption. My fiancee and I have been trying for another baby since I got cleared at 8 weeks pp. Well today after work I took a pregnancy test. My period is due in 4 days but I have been peeing like a racehorse, and very nauseated most of my shift at work. And there was a very very very faint line. I'm filled with all sorts of emotions. But scared to get too excited right now. I'm going to take a digital in the morning so there is no debate. But I just had to tell someone and this sub is my safe space ❤

Money spent on take out and food stops
Holy fcking shit bromos. So I decided to look into my husband and I’s finances since it seems we burn through money stupid fast and I just could not figure out why we are always broke despite us both making decent livings … Well, I go through our bank statements line by line and turns out we are spending an ASTRONOMICAL amount of money on take out, delivery, coffee runs, fast food stops. Like, I truly am shocked. Anybody else been in this boat? I feel like it’s so hard as a busy mom to cook meals every single night but this cannot go on the way it is or we’ll never get ahead.

Looking for food ideas for an outdoor playground birthday party
Planning on throwing my daughter's 4th birthday party at a park playground and trying to think of food options that aren't just pizza. It will be outside, from 10am -1pm. I plan on having coffee, fruit/pastries, for the morning, but stuck on what to do for lunch. My daughter is picky, so I plan on getting pizza for the kids. I know pizza or sandwiches for the whole party is easy, but as a parent going to these parties, I would be excited if something other than pizza/sandwiches were served. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Anyone else have a bad day time napper??
My 12 week old LO is such a champ at night time. Day time though? We are lucky if we get 20-40 mins in the bassinet before we are relegated to putting her in a sling. From there, she will sleep until woken up! Tell me we aren’t the only ones experiencing this!? We’ve tried every technique out there, but no dice so far.

Anyone else deal with someone who bitches about everything?
My husband yells about/at everything. If he's checking the weather on his phone and an ad pops up he yells "fuck you Facebook". He caught his foot on a grocery bag this morning and started cussing out the bag. He gripes at the TV when the news is on and he doesn't agree with or understand what they're talking about. It's so frustrating and hard to deal with sometimes. Like yeah, I'm sorry that I didn't put the potatoes away after I went shopping, but instead of putting them away he cussed out a bag. I just don't know what to do anymore. I do 90% of all of the things that are house, and damnit sometimes I'm just tired and burnt out. Listening to the latest rant about the stock market, or teachers wages, or a strike, or how he thinks our next home needs to have some sort of nuclear fallout shelter is going to completely drive me over the edge. I'm so grateful for this space to rant- thank you if you've made it this far, I feel like I could write a book.

contact napping
does anyone else do contact naps during the day to ensure their baby gets good naps in? or am i just crazy? i’m lucky to have a year of maternity leave and a husband who works from home. she was napping mostly in her crib before the latest sleep regression hit and it really affected her naps. dealing with an overtired cranky baby vs dealing with a few contact naps during the day seems like a no brainer to me, but maybe i’m being too much? ftm.
