Just like people rely on rest areas to refresh and sustain us during long journeys, so do monarchs. To help them on their journey, 4 waystations have been created at rest areas on I-35, the “Monarch Highway." https://t.co/9wa2CZuFhY Photo: Kim Conrow/Native Plant Society of TX https://t.co/E551yA9PPb

This place floods back so many memories. The wind ripping backwards a car door, me tearing my shoulder in the ocean from a rogue wave, frostnip, hypothermia, haggling for a sled dog rental to access remote beaches, reindeer stew, all night drives fueled by candy and gummies, northern lights alone at the beach, 3 day accidental ferry rides, digging out the car, perfect once a career waves and a bond between a few people that can never be broken. What a trip to think it’s been years since i’ve been back. Grateful to be exploring Norway this month after a few year hiatus.
