Hawaii bill would end astronomy on Mauna Kea
A bill moving through the Hawaii state legislature would form a new body to manage Mauna Kea made up only of Hawaiian cultural practitioners (no astronomers) and would literally return all land above 9200 feet - all telescopes to a natural state. Would certainly stop TMT from being built and eventually end all astronomy on the mountain.
