Morning view working with one of the the breeding zinnias. I’ve been roguing, writing, cutting, photographing, and of course admiring and talking to the plants every single day. This project has now spanned a solid five years and has taken me to the mat more times than I can count, especially this season. I’m trying my best to keep the faith, stay focused, and just keep going. Earlier this season we had to throw out a good 50% of our plants because of the terrible spring weather and disease. Now every flower feels like a little miracle and I’m not taking any of them for granted. #floretseeds #growingfloret

I spent the last two days with these beautiful souls exploring what it means to be a Floral Designer. My EMERGE workshop is the 2.0 that past attendees had been asking about and I’m so proud of what we covered. It was two really intense days, where we dug deep into color theory, details and texture, spatial awareness, proportion and scale, techniques to create a beautiful bridal bouquet, how to pick a color palette and stick to it…. There was so much that was covered! Yesterday, they used all the skills they learned, after making a bridal bouquet and centerpiece , by creating this jaw dropping hanging installation.
